We are looking for a Global Strategic Education Advisor (GSEA) – Gender Transformative Pedagogy - for the Gender Transformative Pedagogy Flagship who will operate from our Global Office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Position in the organisation
As a Global Strategic Education Advisor, you contribute to VVOB’s ambition and our values by being a key person in a specific educational domain / flagship. You provide technical and strategic advice and guidance on this domain within VVOB and partners.
The Global Strategic Education Advisor for the Gender Transformative Pedagogy Flagship reports to the Global Director of Programmes and is part of the Global Programmes Department. You work closely together with the programmes team and country team.
Result areas of this position
You design and develop relevant and scalable projects in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
You provide both short- and long-term strategic advice, information and guidance to VVOB and VVOB’s partners on (a) gender transformative pedagogy specific educational domain(s)/flagship, in line with policy trends, new developments and the latest research and thinking in education and international development.
You guide in the capacity development process according to the needs, particular situations and phases of the programme/flagship.
You create and manage partnerships and strong networks with relevant partners, institutions and organisations and you represent VVOB in relevant platforms and proactively look for synergies and complementarities.
You contribute to internal and external knowledge development and learning, by systemising lessons learned and sharing pro-actively lessons learned between partners, colleagues and other VVOB country teams.
As Global Strategic Education Advisor (GSEA) Gender Transformative Pedagogy:
Together with the Global Flagship Coordinator you are the driving force behind VVOB’s Flagship on Gender Transformative Pedagogy.
You lead demand-driven, high-quality strategic advice and technical assistance to VVOB partners and country teams on gender transformative pedagogy.
You represent VVOB in key continental, regional and global forums, ensuring strategic visibility and thought leadership on gender transformative pedagogy.
You contribute to partnership building and donor diversification efforts by developing compelling proposals, evidence-based narratives and strategic positioning around gender transformative pedagogy.
You guide and strengthen quality assurance processes across Gender Transformative Pedagogy Flagship activities, with a particular focus on professional development for teachers, school leaders and teacher educators.
You guide the effective development, delivery and continuous improvement of blended exchange and learning trajectories for professional development providers working on gender transformative pedagogy.
You lead the generation, translation and use of evidence on gender transformative pedagogy to inform programming, advocacy, policy dialogue and organisational learning.
You contribute to ensuring strategic alignment, shared learning, and the exchange of best practices across the implementation of VVOB’s different Flagships.
